Destron Universal Livestock Reader(includes IR5760 charger)
This Bluetooth® Wireless Reader is an ISO 11785
compliant, low cost and rugged portable reader. This reader is ideal for low
volume manual scanning operations or as a backup to an automated system.
The reader will read all ISO compliant
tags/technology chips and features a field programmable port for custom
applications. The power source comes from a 6V rechargeable battery with the
capacity to read all day on a fully charged battery.
General Use Directions:
When the reader is first turned on, there is a
start up routine the reader must go through before it is ready to read a tag.
This routine means the reader will take approximately 3-4 seconds on power up
before it is ready for operation.
If there is a noticeable reduction in read range,
the battery may be getting low. Try replacing or recharging the battery.
Pay close attention to the battery polarity when
installing the battery. The battery should slide in easily. If it is tight
going in, it may be reversed. The battery can be very difficult to remove if
it is installed incorrectly.
Laptop Computer Use:
Laptop computers MUST have either a grounded
power supply (3-prong plug), or have and external connection to ground for
proper operation. This only applies when using a laptop with AC power. No
external ground is needed when running the battery operated laptop or hand
held processors.
DTR 3E Reader with Memory and vibrating handle: The following information is specific to the DTR 3E Reader with Memory. The DTR 3E reader works in conjunction with the PC application provided with the reader to manage the stored tag numbers saved on the reader. Up to 2500 individual tag numbers can be stored in the memory until the reader is connected to a PC and downloaded to an animal management system or imported to a spreadsheet for future data analysis. The reader may be configured by a utility and then brought to a remote location to scan the electronic ear tags on the animals. PC application:Infodex M software is provided with each Reader. The utility allows the operator to filter multiple reads of the same tag and/or scan tags into the utility before saving it in a folder on the PC. The utility saves the tag number so that the file can be automatically formatted for MS Excel or sent to management software already on the PC. The DTR 3E reader also features a vibrating handle to signify a successful tag read.
