DESCRIPTION: The Y-TEX Stationary is a dual FDX-B and HDX reader that operates both modes simultaneously with no loss of efficiency. Both FDX-B and HDX employ digital signal processing techniques to enhance the performance in the presence of noise and vibration. Vibration effects are consequently very small and generally do not affect performance. p>The Stationary Reader is equipped with a sophisticated self-tune facility (or auto-tune). The reader performs an auto-tune shortly after power up. The host computer can also command a remote auto-tune at any time via an RS232 connection. Comes with one or two antennae, available in either portal or panel configuration. Listed in the ordering box below you will find several choices for readers and antennas. A complete set-up system would require a minimum of one reader with one to two antennas (each reader can support up to two antennas). For basic operations wishing to just read tags or collect data into a herd management software program on a periodic basis the Standard Reader with RS232 and antenna of choice would be sufficient. The standard reader comes with a choice of RS232 or Ethernet capabilities. Ethernet capability is for those who need to connect to a network system to facilitate their reading requirements and data collection. The more expensive synchronized readers are for expanded facilities which need to use several readers and antennas in various locations of their facility such as sale barns. The synchronized readers with "dynamic field" are a little more advanced to allow the field to change shape, i.e. read around objects such as posts, etc. You should not use more than four readers per facility. The antennas for the stationary readers need to be mounted to wood, plastic, fiberglass or similar materials but NOT metal. The readability of these antennas will vary due to external RF factors such as a diesel engine running, fluroescent lights, computer monitors, etc. The larger antenna reads from a bigger field but is more susceptible to interference than the smaller antenna. The portal antennas are a frame-like antenna similar to the security walk-through gates in an airport. Standard Readers use A/C power only while the Synchronized Readers can use A/C or D/C power.
